Before you read on

A plain-language agreement for using this site

Mature Male Power is an educational resource about strength training for men over 45 in the United Kingdom. The pages here cover joint-friendly programming, recovery and mobility, bone health, falls prevention and the evidence behind each recommendation. Reading them does not create a coach, clinician or client relationship with us.

By using maturemalepower.info you accept the terms on this page. If any part of them does not suit you, please stop using the site and speak to a qualified professional about your own training instead.

The short version

  • 1 The content is general education, not personal medical or training advice.
  • 2 You train at your own risk and stay responsible for your own judgement.
  • 3 Please use the site lawfully and leave the material where it is.
  • 4 English law applies, and we are happy to answer questions by phone or email.

Who runs this site, and what it is for

Mature Male Power publishes training and recovery material from an office in Manchester. Everything on the site is written for adult men who want to keep lifting with sensible form, honest expectations and a plan they can actually follow.

01

What you will find here

Articles, exercise notes, recovery guidance and source references on strength training after 45. The material is educational and updated as the underlying research develops.

02

Who it is written for

Adults in the United Kingdom, generally men aged 45 and over, who are training, returning to training, or helping someone else train. The site is not designed for children.

03

What is not offered

We do not sell supplements, sell training plans, or provide medical diagnosis, physiotherapy or one-to-one coaching through this website. No account is required to read it.

04

How the site is funded

The site is run as an information resource. If that ever changes, or if any page is sponsored, we will say so clearly on the page rather than burying it in the footer.

Health and training information

Read it as guidance, not as a prescription

Strength training involves physical effort and carries some risk. The information here is general and cannot account for your medical history, current injuries, medication or the state of your joints on any given day. It is not a substitute for an assessment by a doctor, physiotherapist or suitably qualified coach.

Before you start a new programme

  • 1 Check with your GP or a physiotherapist if you have a heart condition, uncontrolled blood pressure, a recent fracture, or a joint that has been painful for more than a few weeks.
  • 2 Ask about any medication that affects balance, blood pressure or bone density, and whether it changes what you should lift.
  • 3 Start below the loads you think you can handle and add weight gradually over several sessions, not within one.
  • 4 Stop and seek medical help if you feel chest pain, faintness, sudden shortness of breath, or sharp joint pain during a set.

Your responsibility

You decide which movements you attempt, how much you load, and when to stop. Warm up properly, use a spotter or safety pins where they make sense, and keep your own record of what you have done.

How we handle updates

When guidance changes, we revise the relevant page rather than adding a correction note. Where a claim rests on published research, the source is listed on the evidence page so you can read it yourself.

If you are unsure whether a movement suits you, the joint-friendly exercise library and the recovery pages explain how to change range, tempo and load before you decide to skip an exercise altogether.

Acceptable use of the site

The site is free to read. Using it comes with a few straightforward conditions, mostly about not interfering with it and not passing our material off as your own.

You are welcome to

  • Read, print or save pages for your own personal use.
  • Share a link to any page with a training partner, coach or family member.
  • Quote a short passage with a clear credit and a link back to this site.
  • Contact us with corrections, questions or requests for a source.

Please do not

  • Copy whole pages or republish the material as your own content.
  • Use automated tools to scrape the site or place unreasonable load on it.
  • Attempt to access areas, files or systems you were not given access to.
  • Present our guidance as medical advice, or resell it as a paid service.

We may suspend access for anyone who ignores these conditions, and we may update the list as the site grows. Nothing here takes away rights you have under United Kingdom consumer law.

Words, images and links

Everything written and photographed for this site belongs to Mature Male Power unless stated otherwise. The photographs on these pages are illustrative of training and recovery work; they are not pictures of named clients.

Our material

Page text, layout and original photography may not be reproduced in full or used commercially without written permission. Short quotations with credit and a link are fine, as described above.

Research and third-party sources

Where we summarise published research or guidance from health bodies, the original work remains the property of its authors and publishers. Our summary is our own wording, and the evidence page lists the references so you can read them at source.

Links to other websites

Some pages point to external resources, such as research journals or public health guidance. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices. Check their terms before relying on them.

Availability of the site

We aim to keep the site online and accurate, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors. Pages may be changed, moved or removed without notice.

We publish carefully. You train at your own risk.

01

We check our pages against current published guidance and correct mistakes when we find them. Even so, no website can promise that a programme suits your body, your medication or your joints. Any decision to lift, load or progress is yours.

02

To the extent the law allows, Mature Male Power is not liable for injury, loss or damage arising from your use of the site or from following its guidance. Nothing on this page limits liability where the law does not permit it to be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Common questions

Questions about these terms

If your question is not answered here, call or email us during working hours and we will point you to the right page.

Do I need to agree to these terms to read the site?

Reading the site means you accept these terms. There is no account, no sign-up and no payment involved, so acceptance is simply the act of using the pages.

Can I use the guidance with my own clients?

You can read it, discuss it and point clients to a page. You may not copy it into your own handouts, resell it, or present it as your own programme material without written permission.

I think a page contains an error. What should I do?

Please tell us. Email the page address and what you believe is wrong, and include a source if you have one. Corrections are reviewed against the published research and made where they are justified.

How will I know if these terms change?

We update this page when the terms change and revise the date at the top of the section. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated version.

Which law applies to these terms?

The laws of England and Wales apply to this website and to any dispute about it. If you live elsewhere in the United Kingdom, your local consumer protections still apply where the law says they must.
